The Gita-Govinda is a 12th century erotic-spiritual love poem expressed in the traditional “multi”-media of painting, music and dance, which have been developed in Indian culture for over eight centuries. The form of the exhibit mirrors the interrelations among multiple dimensions and media of the Gita-Govinda. In order to understand the “whole” of the poem people need to explore interconnections between the media of text, visual image, the sung image and the dance performance.
The exhibit-goer interacts with a network of multimedia kiosks, each focusing on a particular category of the Gita-Govinda content space.
