FOREWORD

It is my great pleasure to introduce and present to the art lovers of Mumbai the avant-garde expression "Eternal Gandhi", a Multimedia Exhibition that is a synthesis of art encompassing the perennial wisdom of Gandhi Ji utilizing new media as an art form. The multi layer works sparkle in diverse dimensions evoking different views and enveloping modern art form, technology, craft, cultural documentation with visions of development as a creative interpretation. The project has been fully supported by the Aditya Birla Group. The exhibition has been conceptualized by Ranjit Makkuni and his team at the Sacred World Research Laboratory and has accomplished several important projects of similar nature in the past. To me it is like reinterpreting the universal concerns of Gandhi Ji as an icon utilizing the potential of new media technologies in a creative and interactive format. This would open new avenues of interactive dissemination and installation practices in a unique fashion. I am sure that this exhibition would prove to be an imagination starter to spark of new vision and creativity for the future generations.
